KIDIZENS MAKES SOCIAL STUDIES FUN FOR STUDENTS AND EASY FOR SCHOOLS!

Kidizens offers specialized in-school workshops that provide a deep, project-based learning experience and real-life social studies curriculum for Bay Area elementary school teachers that meets California educational standards for civics and social studies grade level requirements. These workshops can be completely customized to any school’s or teacher’s objectives and can provide supplemental learning to what is being covered in a social studies or civics class in a fun and highly engaging LEGO-based environment. For all our workshop options, Kidizens provides the teachers, lesson plans, LEGO blocks, and building materials!

The real-life social studies workshops are very engaging for 6 to 11 year olds and leverage our unique city-building framework! The workshops are also unique in providing an open-ended platform for many fundamental concepts in civics, economics, math, and geography. Children also learn important social, emotional, and leadership skills… all while having lots of fun with LEGOs!

Run a lego program at Your School
through Kidizens’ Workshops!

Our on-site, in-class workshops enable teachers and administrators an opportunity for their students to build an entire LEGO city right in their own classroom or on their school campus.

Perfect for Intercessions, Professional Development Days, and Teacher In-Service Days!

These single day or multi-day Social Studies-based workshops are very engaging for 6 – 12 year olds. They are unique in bridging and connecting civics, economics, geography, and history (meeting many CA standards). Children also learn important SEL and real-life leadership skills, all while having tons of LEGO fun!

Great for Girl and Boy Scout Troops!

We also offer highly customized workshops catering to local Girl and Boy Scouts Groups! We are able to customize the workshops to meet the standards of many social studies, history, and economics-based badges! In the past, our Young Entrepreneurs workshop has been a very popular option for these groups.

Field Trip Options Available!

We have conducted many 3 to 4 hour field trips in the past at our Kidizens locations. Students take on an experiential journey and role play as Mayors for a Day!

Ohlone Elementary School: Community-Building Workshop

The Kidizens model city workshop became a foundational part of our project-based integrated learning unit on “The City of the Future.” To activate background knowledge and build foundational understanding of how cities work, the Kidizens team facilitated a fast-paced, action oriented project.

Building the city out of Legos kept each child engaged in the process of thinking, doing, evaluating, and iterating.

I am grateful to the Kidizens leadership and facilitators for delivering this high quality learning experience to my class.  I highly recommend this top-notch company and their workshops and will be using them again in the future.

PHILLIPS BROOKS SCHOOL: COMMUNITY-BUILDING WORKSHOP

day camp for 6 year olds
Kidizens was a fabulous experience for our teachers. They provided the curriculum and resources needed to keep our students engaged over two school days. The students learned all about community development, financing/budgeting, collaboration, communication, negotiation, etc. The list could go on. The cities they built were unique, and there was a lot of room for students to share their diverse strengths. We will definitely be inviting them back for other opportunities.
