Meeting every week for 1-1.5, participating kidizens build an entire LEGO city, explore new worlds, or plan and launch their own businesses. In an engaging social environment, they use analytical thinking, collaboration, and effective communication tools to make critical decisions for their city, business, or expedition. The kids also role-play as city council members, entrepreneurs, or explorers to address exciting civic and real-life issues and as such our students gain problem solving, public speaking, and many real-life skills and experience.
Students work in committees together to construct an entire city in a short period of time. In an engaging social environment, they must use analytical thinking, cooperative skills and effective communications to make decisions as a city council and provide for their citizens while managing a limited city budget.
Focuses on the “Age of Discovery” — life at sea as well as the Gold Rush, as our young captains build ships to sail to the LEGO New World in an attempt to establish a colony and maybe even find gold!
Focuses on economics and businesses, as students create their own budgets, products, advertisements and companies as part of a city simulation.
We are working with many schools in the Bay area (Encinal Elementary School, Synapse, Phillips Brooks, Gideon Hausner,
Bubb Elementary School and many more) to offer a multitude of after-school workshops.
