Take your creativity and confidence to towering heights at Kidizens’ Young Mayors Online Camps! It’s the best online summer camp! During an excitement-packed session, kids are immersed in a highly experiential and collaborative process of building, managing and governing their own LEGO cities. The program leverages your child’s love of LEGOs to help them learn important 21st-century skills and leadership strategies, all while having tons of fun creating civilizations from the ground up.
Kidizens is our flagship program aimed at students between the ages of 6-12. The online version of the program is the best virtual LEGO camp around! It provides a highly interactive and creative learning environment where students build and inhabit their own imaginary city, and are immersed in a moderator-led virtual city framework. Kids learn about many real-life, city-related topics in the context of a utopian city-building framework, as well as have run role-playing and living in a virtual world. We encourage collaborative and guided discovery of real-world concepts in an age-appropriate manner, while role-playing and ‘living virtually’ in a fun universe. Our goal is to inspire kids to become great citizens and future leaders, one project, one city at a time!
Based on demand for our camps for the geographical areas we are not able to serve this year, we are bringing back our popular online camps! The program is targeted at ages 6 to 8 and 8 to 11 and runs from 10am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. If you are interested in joining us this summer please fill out this form below.
During the online camp session, the Young Mayors are immersed in a collaborative process of building, problem-solving, and role-playing as city council members in a LEGO city that they build together. The younger campers are guided on an age-appropriate discovery of civic concepts as they build their dream city together one brick at a time. Each camp day has a special theme to kickstart their imaginations and get them thinking about all the exciting building projects they could design and construct together to resolve the many issues thrown their way! While immersed in this magical world of play they learn valuable skills such as cooperation, listening skills, sharing, compromise, teamwork, empathy, respect, and more!
The online camp for the younger age group (6 to 8) runs from 10am to 12:30pm with a 15-min snack break at 11:15am. Sign up below!
During the online session with the older age group, the Young Mayors are divided into groups to build multiple cities! They are tasked to address a myriad of city issues and challenges as they arise during the course of each camp day. With each new town crisis comes a building challenge, a fun game, a quiz, or even a brief history lesson about how cities typically solve certain issues! The LEGO building goes hand in hand with a guided exploration through many social and economic concepts! Each city will need to manage its budget, overall citizen happiness, as well as meet the needs of its growing population. This experiential journey encourages creative problem solving, rewards collaboration, and helps to foster a sense of duty and responsibility to ones community. It’s tons of civic fun!
The online camp for the older age group runs from 10am to 2:30pm with a 15-min snack break at 11:15am and a lunch break from 12:30pm to 1pm.
